Everybody needs to take a break, sometimes. Especially a workaholic like me...
But what DOES an enamelist/jewelry designer/photographer (who is currently re-designing her studio) *do* for fun? Recently, I was having lunch with a close friend, and he was actually shocked by all of my various extra-curricular activities. And he's known me for YEARS. So... here are some of them, in no particular order:
When I'm *not* opening up very cool supplies wrapped in hemp, sewn together, and sealed with wax... (What? Doesn't everyone do this? ;) |
I collect random scraps of literary ephemera from the old books I read to use in my personal artwork. I found this one on Halloween. Cool, huh? |
I take pictures of everything, of course. |

Sometimes, I let my friends use me as an artist's model. (Don't worry people, I always wear clothes!) |
I'm an apprentice beekeeper. |
No... REALLY. And I am proud to say that I have never been stung. I don't actually wear gloves, either. This is just a promotional photo. |
I make handmade soap. Not to sell, just for fun. |
I'm completely addicted to music. All kinds. This happens to be a Muse concert in NYC, otherwise known as 'the city.' |
I spend as much time as I can, HERE. |
Even if I need a bonfire to keep warm. I *love* fire. | |
I volunteer at a local stable where they rescue horses, and I ride for free. This is Mr. Blackjack, my new best friend of the non-human variety. |
But no-one will ever replace this little unperson! It is my pleasure to introduce Esmeralda. Pardon her... she's a bit shy. Say, 'Meow,' Es. |
And there you go. A small snapshot of 'me.' I hope you enjoyed it! Have a great weekend, everybody. *Blessings* to you and yours...
xoxo
